- Half a cup of butter
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Quarter teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- Half a teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 cup of buttermilk
- 1 recipe of cream cheese icing
- Some red food gel or you can also use liquid red food coloring
Process For Making Red Velvet Whoopie Pies-Valentine’s Day Dessert Recipe
1.Once you follow your ingredients together the first thing that we’re going to do is mix together the dry ones. We’re putting in the flour the baking powder the salt and the cocoa
2.Now we’re going to cream our butter
3.Once the butter has been mixed we want to add our brown sugar and we’re going to mix this until it’s incorporated
4.Now we’re going to add our egg and our vanilla
5.Once the ingredients are incorporated. We want to put in our red gel paste if you don’t have red gel paste you can use red liquid food. Just put the red gel paste in and mix it well
6.So now that the red has been incorporated into the wet ingredients. We’re going to start by adding our dry ingredients in one-third intervals with our butter milk.
So, first we’re going to put approximately a third of the dry in. Started off slowly and we’re going to add about half of our milk another third of our flour, the rest of the buttermilk and the rest of the flow and mix it well
7.Well we’re going to show you how to make the whoopie pies into the shape of hearts and for this one we’re going to be using a small fondant cutter in the shape of a heart and on parchment paper we’re just going to trace around the outside of it and this is how we are going to line up all of the places where we are going to pipe the whoopie pie batter
8.We have got our batter in our piping bag and we have our 1A tip at the end of the bag and we are using the 1A because it’s relatively the same size as the shape of the heart. We put onto here now the batter is a little bit sticky when it comes out so you can just pull it away with your finger
9.Just start at the top of the heart go down to the bottom back up squeeze release and then you can work it down with your heart with your finger to smooth it out
10.finish off the tray here and then we are going to put them into our pre heated oven which is that 375 degrees. They were in for 9 minutes in oven
11.while you’re waiting for them to cool back to room temperature is put together the cream cheese buttercream .
The whoopie pie hops have cooled what we want to do is match them up as close as we can according to size like the small ones with the small ones and big ones with the big ones .
then we’re going to flip over one half and that’s the half that we’re going to be piping the butter cream mixture onto so this is the cream cheese buttercream then we would put the lid the top on
Our Red Velvet Whoopie Pies are ready to serve and we are sue that everyone will like it too much
